To start off, here’s a quick synopsis of World of Warcraft:
World of Warcraft, often referred to as WoW, was developed by Blizzard Entertainment. It is the fourth released game set in the fantasy Warcraft Universe, which was first introduced by Warcraft: Orcs & Humans 1994. WoW is a Massively Multiplayer Online Role-playing Game (MMORPG) played by millions of people worldwide. In April 2008, World of Warcraft was estimated to hold 62% of the MMORPG market. Blizzard Entertainment announced World of Warcraft on 2 September 2001. The game was released on 23 November 2004, celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Warcraft franchise.
World of Warcraft takes place within the Warcraft world of Azeroth, four years after the events at the conclusion of Blizzard’s previous Warcraft release, Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne.
Your reward, aside from the enjoyment that comes from playing, in the WoW game is experience, items, money and reputation, all of which enable you to increase your mastery and power.
Leveling in World of Warcraft
You may be searching for a solid World of Warcraft strategy to level-up your character. You can level up your character from level 1 to 60 and even level 70 if you have the Burning Crusade expansion. The Wrath of the Lich King expansion will allow you to level up to 80.

To continue on with my synopsis of World of Warcraft…
In the WoW game, there are two main types of characters:
1) Player Characters (which are controlled by real people); and
2) Non-Player Characters (which are controlled by Blizzard’s gaming software).
You can select from ten playable character classes, each class has its own unique set of talents and abilities as well as its own strengths and weaknesses. The character class you choose will determine your main role in the World of Warcraft so be sure to choose wisely. The ten WOW character classes are:
-
Death Knight (Wrath of the Lich King expansion)
-
Druid
-
Hunter
-
Mage
-
Paladin
-
Priest
-
Rogue
-
Shaman
-
Warlock
-
Warrior
You can, depending upon the class of character that you have selected, decide to build your character’s talent trees for damage-per-second (DPS), tanking, healing or a combination of these three. Some classes are more useful than others. The Priest, for example, is one of the most sought after classes when it comes to groups. That is because the Priest, with the use of his healing powers, can keep the rest of the group alive. However, if that Priest is alone then the Priest is as good as dead.
Your character is able to earn gold, silver and copper to pay for your adventures through the lands of Warcraft.
As part of your World of Warcraft strategy, it is recommended that you work on different side skills for your character. These skills are called professions. You are able to choose two professions and those professions can both earn and save you money. Professions are divided into two categories:
Primary Professions:
- Gathering: Mining, Skinning and Herbalism
- Crafting: Blacksmithing, Tailoring, Alchemy, Engineering, Enchanting, Jewelcrafting, and Inscription
Secondary Professions:
- Cooking, Fishing and First Aid.
Important: The Rogue class has two unique secondary professions of its own: Lock Picking and Poisons.
It is recommended that you choose a profession that suits your class.
The above was a very short overview of the World of Warcraft game. On the left hand navigation bar of this website you will find more detailed WoW strategy guides on each of the WoW character classes and professions as well as other guides for leveling, getting gold, etc.
These guides will be built upon so please visit often.
